Arrest Made After Drive-By Pellet Gun Shooting Near Fergus

One person has been arrested after a pellet gun was fired at a moving vehicle on Hwy. 6 north of Fergus.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Thursday around 3pm, a red Honda Accord passed another vehicle on the highway near Sideroad 15, as someone fired a pellet gun at the vehicle.  The passenger side mirror was struck and it left a dent in the door.

Officers later located a male suspect in downtown Fergus on St. Andrews St., and during the arrest, the suspect's vehicle collided with a police cruiser.  The suspect was then taken into custody without further incident.  It is unknown if any charges have been laid at this time.

Police say the suspect and the victim do not know each other.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
