Bruce Celebrating 150th Anniversary With Military Reunion Luncheon

Alongside with Canada's 150th, this year also marks 150 years since Bruce County was officially formed.

To celebrate, Bruce 150 group is hosting a Bruce Remembers Military Reunion Luncheon. It will take place this Saturday, June 3, at the Chesley Community Centre, beginning at 11am. That day also marks 101 years since the Bruce Battalion's march to Chesley from Walkerton to receive their colours from Premier William Hearst, who hailed from Bruce County.

Tickets for veterans are free, and the event includes a hot lunch catered by Green Door, guest presentation from Allan Bartley, author of "Heroes in Waiting: the 160th Bruce Battalion in the Great War", and a memorabilia display. Tickets for non-veterans are $50, and info on where to find them can be found at bruce150.ca.
