Goderich Harbour Improvements Continue

The Goderich harbour expansion and access to the river is on schedule and on budget.

Rowland Howe, president of the Goderich Port Management Corporation, says they've made some improvements to the walkway along the river that will make it more attractive as well as improve access.

Howe says one of the most visible will be the bridge, which was going to be wood, but has been upgraded to galvanized steel. He says this will make it more attractive and more sustainable.

Construction to add four acres to the harbour will start this summer and then tail off as the weather gets colder, but Howe says by October of 2018 they expects to have ships loading and unloading cargo.

Howe adds they have already had a great deal of interest from people who want to bring products through the port of Goderich.
