UPDATE: OPP Search Second Farm Property For Armed Suspect

Provincial police have cordoned off a farm property in southern Bruce County as they search for a man believed to be carrying a gun.

Police were called late Wednesday afternoon by someone reported a man who was illegally in possession of a firearm at a property west of Lucknow in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.

Roads around the farm north of Kintail on Belfast Rd. were closed while police, the OPP Emergency Response Team and a canine unit searched for the man.

Thursday morning, the OPP confirmed they have contained a property just south of Ripley, near Concession 4 and 6, for a search.  Access to both areas is restricted.

The suspect is described as 29-years-old, 6'0" tall, 200 lbs, with a  medium build. He has black hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a brown sweatshirt.

Anyone who sees a suspicious person or suspicious activity in these areas is asked to contact the OPP or call 911.

Public access on the following roadways is blocked off:

  • Concession 4 and 6, south of Ripley
  • Belfast Rd. between Kintail Line and Eighteen Mile Line
  • Kintail Line between Belfast Rd. and Zion Rd.
  • Zion Rd. between Eighteen Mile Line and Kintail Line
  • Eighteen Mile Line between Belfast Rd. and Zion Rd.
