Huron Immigration Group Needs New Members

Huron County's Local Immigration Partnership Council is looking for new members.

Project Manager Kristin Crane says they're looking for volunteers who could bring a wide range of experience to the table from an interest in newcomers, experience in working with newcomers or even someone who once was a newcomer and can relate to the challenges immigrants feel when they arrive here.

Crane explains volunteers would be asked to attend four to six meetings a year and those meeting could be from an hour and a half to a half day meeting.

She adds there also special events, like the Multicultural Festival, at the end of June, that committee members would be asked to attend if they're available.

Anyone interested in sitting on the Local Immigration Partnership Council committee can contact Kristin Crane at 524-8394 ext. 3219.
