Police say just before noon Saturday, a Dodge minivan heading north on Richmond St. near Eight Mile Rd. collided with the back of a Ford cube van, which was also northbound, but was stopped to turn into a driveway.

The lone occupant of the minivan had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was rushed to hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.  He has been identified as 54-year-old Thomas Dinney from South Huron.

The two people in the cube van were not hurt.
