Three Charged In Owen Sound Drug Raid

Three people are facing charges after $8,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized during a bust in Owen Sound.

The Owen Sound Police Service says on Thursday just before noon, officers executed a search warrant a downtown apartment in the city, and seized 75 g of crystal methamphetamine, 42 g of marijuana, and a number of ecstasy tablets. An expandable "police-style" metal baton was also seized, and stolen property was recovered.

Three people were arrested as a result of the bust.

A 25-year-old Owen Sound man is now charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of ecstasy, possession of marijuana and possession of proceeds of crime.

A 35-year-old Harriston man is also charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of ecstasy, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a prohibited weapon.

And a 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of ecstasy and possession of marijuana.

All three have been held in custody pending a court appearance on Friday.
