Perth County Part Of National Tartan Day

The County of Perth will unveil the Perth County Tartan on Thursday, in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

The official launch will take place at the Stratford Perth Museum at 8am on National Tartan Day.

The colours of the Perth County Tartan are taken from the Perth County Crest from the 1800s and the Perth County Logo from 2009.

The shades of green represent the strong agricultural presence in Perth County. Blue represents the many rivers and creeks that flow through farmland. Red is for the blood sacrificed by the early settlers and veterans who gave their lives. Gold signifies the industrious nature of the people in Perth County.

The Canada Maple Leaf Tartan, Perth County Tartan and Stratford Tartan are on display at the Stratford Perth Museum.
