Minto council gave final approval to its 2017 budget at its meeting on Tuesday.
The budget will add 1.2% to the levy paid by local ratepayers.
When the county and school levy is added in, the total increase will go up to 2.2%.
Ratepayers with a home assessed at $215,000 will see an extra $65 on their tax bill.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
