Cyclones Advance to Semi Finals; Warriors Elminated

Listowel 2 Brantford 1

The Listowel Cyclones advanced to the GOJHL Midwestern Conference Semi Final with a 2-1 win over Brantford to sweep the 99ers in four games.

Brantford's Kyle West opened the scoring with a minute left in the first and the 99ers maintained a 1-0 lead until late in the second when Listowel's Cullen Mercer scored the equalizer on the power play.

Jakob Lee scored the game winner just 57 seconds into the third period.

Brock Baier earned the win with a 23 save performance. Aidan Link faced 29 shots.

The Cyclones now await the winner of the Waterloo Siskins - Cambridge Winterhawks series.

Kitchener 2 Stratford 1

Jack Scanlan put the Warriors on the board just over two minutes into the game but that would be all the offense Stratford would generate in a 2-1 loss to Kitchener.

The Warriors were eliminated from the Midwestern Conference Quarter Finals with the loss.

Logan Schmidt tied the game for the Dutchmen midway through the third and Luke Bignell scored the game winner at 12:36 of the final frame.

Jackson McIntosh earned the win with 26 saves.

The Dutchmen now face the Elmira Sugar Kings in the semifinals.
