Southgate council heard numerous concerns, particularly regarding water, during Wednesday's public meeting for the third phase of an 800-lot subdivision in Dundalk.
Several neighbours of the proposed subdivision said they are concerned that their property, which is already wet, will get worse when the subdivision is built. Several of them predicted flooded basements.
There were no concerns expressed by the Grand River Conservation Authority.
The Flato subdivision is located at the south side of Dundalk, not far from Hwy. 10.
Councillor Christine Gordon suggested a lawyer with expertise in such matters be asked to meet with neighbours and explain the risks and benefits of the development.
