Derek Elliot struck twice in the first period and the Hawks didn't look back as Mitchell blanked Mount Forest 8-0 in Game One of the PJHL Pollock Division semi finals.
Chace Duckworth led the Hawks with a pair of goals and three assists. Elliot had two assists on top of his first period goals. Bryce Mayea and McKenzie Carter each scored and set up two more.
Graham Lauersen earned the win with 23 saves. Wyatt Nicholson stopped five shots in relief to preserve the shut out.
