Huron Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson is taking on a new challenge for the province.
She has been appointed as the official opposition's international trade critic, and as indigenous relations and reconciliation critic.
Thompson says she looks forward to the new opportunity
"For the last decade, the bad policies, waste and mismanagement of this Liberal government have discouraged businesses and communities from investing and growing in Ontario. I'm looking forward to continuing to share our message that under a PC government, there will be an Ontario advantage, where once again our province will become a place to prosper and do business," she adds.
She hopes to help identify new opportunities for Ontario business and foster strong relations with neighbouring jurisdictions.
She will also work closely with Ontario's indigenous communities to try to understand their concerns and identify opportunities.
Along with her new duties, Lisa will continue to serve as a member of the Standing Committee on General Government, as well as the Ontario Representative to the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians for Canada Region. Lisa's top priority, however, remains representing the interests of residents in Huron-Bruce.
"Huron-Bruce is central to everything I undertake in the legislature. Ensuring that our voices, concerns and interests are well represented will always be my primary focus," says Thompson.
Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott is taking over as the official opposition critic to the minister of the environment and climate change.
