The warden of Huron County says this year's ROMA conference in Toronto was well received.
Jim Ginn says the premier's speech was predictable and didn't contain any new information or announcements. But he says he was encouraged to hear the "rural lens" mentioned at one of the sessions. That's something Ginn has been promoting for several years.
Ginn says he was also encouraged by the announcement at that the province was re-introducing the Rural Economic Development program.
Ginn says he hasn't had time to go over the details, but it was encouraging to see economic development funding once again available to rural Ontario.
Ginn also adds organizers of the conference were hoping for about 700 delegates, and they had over 1,000.
