Banner Urges Conservative Leadership Hopeful To Resign

A banner listing the names of the victims of the recent mosque shooting in Quebec was hung on the constituency office of Conservative MP Kellie Leitch and also urged her to resign.

The Simcoe-Grey representative is also running for the leadership of the Conservative Party.

Wednesday morning, OPP officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment were called to the scene on Hume St. in the Town of Collingwood.

Sometime overnight, the banner was hung but has since been removed, and no damage was caused to the property.

"Hate puts us all at risk," was also written on the banner.

During her campaign for the leadership, Leitch has called for more vetting of immigrants and visitors to Canada.

The investigation is ongoing.
