Wingham Town Hall Theatre Committee Surpasses Fundraising Goal

The Wingham Town Hall Theatre Committee has surpassed its fundraising goal to help revive the theatre.

The goal of $120,000 has been surpassed through hard work and a diligent campaign by local volunteers.

North Huron Councillor Yolanda Ritseema-Teeninga says she's so pleased that a local group stepped up to tackle the project.

"Having groups like these that are passionate about projects that they want to see come to fruition, and having full council support behind them and seeing the work they can do, it really excites me to see that things like this can be accomplished," she says.

Ritseema-Teeninga, who sits on the committee, says bringing the theatre back will be great for the community.

"I think it's going to really bring back some great performances," she says. "We have such incredible talent in this community and in this area."

The official grand reopening of the Wingham Town Hall Theatre is set for Mother's Day, on May 14.
