The CEO of the Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance is quite pleased to see more involvement of patients and family members in the delivery of care, and in the overall direction of the Alliance.
Andrew Williams says community volunteers sit on unit action councils in all of their programs, and that input from the public is influencing the direction of the system. Williams adds that was unique at one time, but it's gradually becoming an expectation at more hospitals.
He says he's optimistic that the closer they work together as partners in the system the more able they're going to be to meet the needs of patients as they work through the system.
