The OPP says some driving tips in winter weather include:

  • Driving too fast for road conditions is the number one cause of winter collisions
  • Allowing extra time to travel
  • Leaving extra space between vehicles
  • Using full headlights every day during the winter months as daylight running lights are not as bright and do not turn on taillights
  • Avoid sudden braking, accelerating or steering
