Wellington Mental Health Care Improvements Planned

Residents in Wellington County will soon have better access to mental health and addictions care.

The Waterloo Wellington LHIN says significant improvements will be made to improve local mental health services.

New funding will help increase access to care and reduce wait times.

The first-in-Ontario initiative electronically connects mental health services to primary care providers to ensure better care.

Residents who access the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington can agree to have their information securely shared with their doctor.

New on-line self-management tools will support residents as they wait for more comprehensive care. And a collaborative project with primary care will improve understanding as to what is needed to better support patients and develop standards of mental health care.
