Bluewater Wants More Time To Study County's Natural Heritage Plan

The Municipality of Bluewater is planning to ask Huron County to extend the public comment period on its proposed Natural Heritage Plan.

Bluewater is in the process of reviewing its official plan, and the county's Natural Heritage Plan will have some impact on that.

Mayor Tyler Hessel points out many landowners in the municipality are happy with the designation they have now, and are concerned the Natural Heritage Plan will have a direct impact on their land.

Hessel says they want to respond to the proposal with a clear statement they can send back to the county, and they feel it would help to have more time to put that together.

Bluewater will be holding an agriculture committee meeting early in January, at which time the county's Natural Heritage Plan will be discussed.
