Digging Out In Midwestern Ontario

Midwestern Ontario will be dominated by the sights and sounds of heavy equipment moving snow on Friday.

After a day-long blast of winter weather on Thursday, conditions have improved, although there is still blowing and drifting snow in some areas.

Police, the MTO, and county roads departments are asking people to be patient, because it's going to take time to properly clear all the roads.

Many counties pulled their plows off the roads Thursday because of the dangerous conditions, so snow clearing will take longer than normal.

Drivers are cautioned that there is still widespread blowing and drifting snow because of the wind, so visibility will be reduced at times.
