As snow squalls continued to move in off Lake Huron on Wednesday, Environment Canada issued a special weather statement that is calling for a mix of precipitation this week.
The weather agency says a large weather system is expected to move into Southwestern and Midwestern Ontario from the US, bringing snow Friday night. The snow may potentially change to rain on Saturday. Environment Canada officials add other models indicate the snow could persist throughout Saturday.
Poor travel conditions are a possibility Friday evening through to Saturday.
The special weather statement is in effect Bruce, Perth, Huron, Grey and Wellington counties.
Snow squall warnings also remain in place for Bruce County, Grey County and northern parts of Huron County. Norther Wellington County is under a snow squall watch.
Blowing and drifting snow is expected to continue through Wednesday night, causing reduced visibility.
Bruce County is reporting squalls and moderate to heavy drifting, with some slippery snow packed sections of road.
