Huron County council has agreed to roll a $30,000 grant for a project of the Perth-Huron Social Research and Planning Council into 2017. It's to provide time for one of the conditions of the grant to be addressed.
Erica Clark, co-chair of the Perth-Huron Social Research and Planning Council, says back in the spring, Huron County pledged $30,000 for a project called "My Perth-Huron." But one of the conditions of the grant was that Perth County's Social Services Committee -- which includes Perth County, Stratford and St. Marys -- match the Huron County grant.
Clark points out the Social Services Committee already provides $25,000 to the project every year, so the question is whether they are required to throw in another $30,000 a year to match the Huron County grant.
Clark says they won't know until early next year, so they asked Huron County council to move the offer of $30,000 into 2017, and council agreed to do that.
