An application to sever four residential lots from a 7.5 acre property in Bayfield has been referred by the county back to Bluewater council.
Bluewater planner Denise Van Amersfoort explained to county council the parcel faces on to Cameron Street at the south end of Bayfield, behind the new Foodland store and near the intersection of Cameron and highway 21. She adds the concept drawing shows four three-plexes and 175 parking spaces.
Bluewater council has denied the application and Van Amersfoort says they've received over 90 letters opposing the application citing things like the density of the development, added traffic and safety issues at the intersection, and compatibility with surrounding properties. She says the applicant has requested a deferral so they bring their new solicitor and land use planner up to date on the project, and possibly make some changes before bringing the application back to Bluewater council, and county council agreed with that request.
Van Amersfoort adds anyone who has been involved in the process to this point will be kept up to date on its progress and of any upcoming meetings.
