Huron OPP Use Spike Belt To End Pursuit

Huron County OPP have a man in custody following a police chase.

Officers were called to a fail to remain collision on Huron Rd. near Maple Line at about 3pm on November 2.

Police were told a Pontiac Pursuit clipped the front of a pick up being passed in the westbound lane of Huron Rd., and left the scene.

Police then received reports of a vehicle nearly striking pedestrians in Seaforth. An officer caught up with a suspect vehicle on Front Rd. and Kinburn Line but the vehicle failed to stop for the officer.

Another officer started to chase the suspect vehicle as it headed into Vanastra at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle finally stopped as it drove over a tire deflation device on Hwy. 4 at Clinton.

A 31-year-old London man faces a long list of charges including dangerous driving, flight from police, driving disqualified, careless driving, fail to remain, and take a vehicle without consent.
