Bayfield Committee Trying To Keep Seniors In The Village Longer

The chair of the co-ordinating committee for Home4Good in Bayfield says transportation remains the number one obstacle for seniors who want to continue living in the village.

Leslie Bella says the goal of their organization is to connect seniors with the community resources that will allow them to remain in Bayfield.

A shopping service is one resource that can help people who are no longer able to drive. Another challenge is looking after a house that has become difficult to manage.

Bella adds it's also very important for seniors to maintain a healthy exercise routine, and there are programs for that as well.

The Home4Good committee chair points out they are finding solutions that enable people to continue to live in their homes much longer.
