Grey County OPP responded to a call about a sailboat taking on water in Georgian Bay, and a report of an assault on board the sailboat.
The Canadian Coast Guard Rescue Coordination Centre in Trenton joined the search with a helicopter and a plane.
The Coast Guard found the boat and towed it to the Owen Sound Marina.
The OPP have charged a 57-year-old man from Honey Harbour with assault. He will appear in court in Owen Sound October 27.
The 47-year-old female victim from Brooklyn, New York suffered minor injuries
