GOJHL Wrap: Cyclones Unbeaten Streak Ends

The Listowel Cyclones unbeaten streak came to an end with a 5-2 loss to the Waterloo Siskins.

Waterloo jumped out to an early two goal lead with Connor Bodnar scoring just 14 seconds into the game and Sam Cherry adding another at 3:06 of the opening frame.

Caleb Warren and Jakob Lee would tie things up for Listowel before the period was over.

Waterloo was back on the attack in the second with Tyler Dam scoring just 1:38 into the period. Ryan Sparkes added another at the midway point.

Benton Hayes was the lone scorer in the third, firing a short handed, unassisted goal into the Cyclones empty net at 17:01. Waterloo out shot Listowel 44-36.

The Cyclones are now 9-1 on the GOJHL season.

Straford 5 Guelph 2

The Straford Warriors claimed a two goal lead in the first period and held on to beat the Guelph Hurricanes 5-2.

Dylan Lebold lead the Warriors with a goal and an assist. Graham Brulotte assisted on two of the Warriors goals.

Carson Poulin stopped 28 shots to earn the victory. Kristian Hufsky stopped 39 of the 44 shots he faced.

LaSalle 7 St. Marys 1

The LaSalle Vipers continued their domination of the St. Marys Lincolns with a 7-1 win last night at Pyramid Recreation Centre.

Manny Silverio had a hat trick for the Vipers, scoring a goal in each period. Bill Moskal was the lone scorer for the Lincolns.

On Wednesday, St. Marys gave up an 8-2 decision to LaSalle.
