Kincardine Hospital Gets Funding For Essential Equipment

A $3-million grant will help with infrastructure renewal at South Bruce Grey Health Centre.

The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care says the money is an "Exceptional Circumstance Grant" for 2016-2017.

The health centre applied for the grant earlier this year to address necessary infrastructure upgrades at the Kincardine site.

The funding will help replace boilers, chillers and essential equipment to ensure patient and staff comfort.

Additional $477,269 in one time funding under the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund will also help with projects across all of the South Bruce Grey Health Centre Sites.

"We are very pleased to be receiving this funding, and the timing is critical," explains Paul Rosebush, SBGHC president and CEO. "Some of the major infrastructure at our Kincardine site will shortly be at the end of life. This substantial grant will allow us to keep the Kincardine hospital fully operation to serve our patients."
