Trustees with the Avon Maitland District School Board got some good news regarding enrollment at the first board meeting of the new school year Tuesday night.
Associate Superintendent of Financial Services, Cheri Carter explained elementary enrollment is actually up above projections by about 170 students.
She says it's still too early to say what the secondary levels will be. International students will help the secondary enrollment figures and they're just in the process of finalizing those figures now.
Secondary enrollment is projected to decline generally over the next few years, and it's not known how much international enrollment will offset that decline.
