Minto Moves Ahead On Sunsaver Solar Partnership

The Township of Minto hopes a partnership to host solar projects on town land will provide a return of up to 100,000 a year for 20 years.

Council received 8 contract offers from the Independent Electricity System Operator for eight sites.

CAO Bill White says this is the 3rd application, so they were pleased the project with Sunsaver is going ahead.

The municipality already hosts smaller solar microfit sites on 7 sites.

The town will lease the equipment from Sunsaver, but the final agreement has to be approved.

The eight sites will be the Municipal office, the Clifford Arena, The Clifford Sewage Treatment Plant, Greenbush Park, Harriston Arena, The Harriston Sewage Treatment Plant, the Palmerston Arena and the Palmerston Industrial Stormwater Pond
