Huron-Bruce MPP Starts Petition Over Hydro Rates

Hydro rates continue to rise, and so are many voices throughout Midwestern Ontario.

Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson has launched a petition on behalf of her constituents, many of whom are outraged at skyrocketing hydro rates.

Thompson says many of her constituents have expressed concern over current hydro rates in rural Midwestern Ontario and the effect those rates are having on many families and businesses.

"I am going to be relentless in exercising the collective voice of Huron-Bruce to let this (provincial) government know that energy has gotten out of control and we need an affordable province if we're going to have a future," says Thompson.

So far, according to MPP Lisa Thompson's website, the petition has already garnered more than 380 signatures and continues to grow.

The fall sitting of the Legislature resumes on September 12.
