Huron County Launches Workplace Wellness Website

The Huron County Health Unit urges local businesses to encourage wellness in the workplace.

Senior Public Health Promoter Angela Willert says a new website will help local businesses keep their most valuable asset healthy.

She says Huron County employers can improve job satisfaction, staff morale and productivity by investing in employee well being.

She adds employers who value physical and psychological health have an advantage because happy healthy employees do their best work.

She says businesses can stay competitive if they consider what will attract and retain employees.

The website offers links, resources and information on practical and simple approaches to creating health work environments.

“Workplace wellness does not have to be expensive or complicated,” explains Willert. “It involves making a commitment to health, finding out your workplace needs, and then making it happen. It’s something even small businesses within Huron County can do.”
