Owen Sound Police, OPP and Armed Forces Search for Missing Soldier

A joint forces ground search is underway for a missing Canadian Armed Forces soldier.

In a release, Owen Sound Police say Andrew Fitzgerald was last seen at the Petro Canada gas station at 16th Street East and 9th Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

Owen Sound Police, Ontario Provincial Police and members from the Canadian Armed Forces are conducting land and water search to try and find Fitzgerald.

The search team is not asking for volunteers and are asking the public not to interfere or impede in the investigation. Property owners are asked to check their properties and out-buildings for Fitzgerald or any of his clothing.

He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, red plaid button-down shirt, white t-shirt and beige pants. He had on black skateboarding style shoes.  If you do find any clothing matching that description, police ask that you do not touch it and call them immediately.

Fitzgerald is described as white, 6'2", with a lean muscular build.
