Conservation Act Review Gets Letter From Bluewater

The Municipality of Bluewater has sent a letter to the provincial review of the Conservation Act.

Mayor Tyler Hessel explains the municipality has two main concerns with the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority.

The first is that council feels it's input or weight in voting at the board table does not reflect the amount of assessment Bluewater pays.   The second is that conservation authority regulations are preventing Bluewater residents with properties along the shoreline from protecting those properties from erosion.

Hessel says council feels the regulations are becoming more restrictive every year, and they want to work with the conservation authority but he says that spirit of co-operation is not working both ways.
