Phillips was named team captain yesterday. In a release the Attack say Phillips impressed many at Hockey Canada's Summer Showcase and was named captain then. He played with Team Canada as an underage player in the IIHF World U18 Tournament in the spring.
The Attack are also respresented by Nick Suzuki at the Ivan Hlinka Tournament.
Team Canada plays Russia this morning.
