The City of Owen Sound has awarded a contract for the reconstruction of the 500-block of 8th St. W, and 9th St. 'A' W in the 500-block.
Work gets underway on Monday.
New sanitary sewers and watermains will be installed on 8th St. W by September.
Sanitary sewers and watermains will be replaced on 9th St. 'A' W. The road will then be reconstructed, and the south sidewalk replaced.
All disturbed areas will be restored.
The 9th St. project should be done in early October.
Both streets will be closed to through traffic, except for local and emergency access.
