Wingham Hospital Campaign Gets Bruce Power Pledge

Bruce Power is making a major contribution to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation's capital campaign.

The company has pledged $75,000 to the Our Hospital, Our Future Campaign.

Bruce Power Vice President of Corporate Affairs James Scongack visited the hospital earlier this week to present the donation.

"Bruce Power makes an effort to actively engage in our communities and it is important to visit the places we contribute to and see the true power of giving," says Scongack.

Earlier this week, the Bruce Site Equity Committee of the Power Workers Union pledged $25,000 to the Wingham Hospital Foundation's campaign.

"It’s great that Bruce Power recognizes the value of the Wingham Hospital to their employees and customers who live in our community," says campaign team leader Scott Miller.

The Our Hospital, Our Future campaign has hit 90% of its $4-million fundraising goal and team members are optimistic they will reach their target by the end of July.

All contributions go towards the expansion of six hospital departments, including the only chemotherapy clinic in Huron and Bruce Counties.  The project includes the replacement of digital imaging equipment, and the creation of a unique community healthcare campus in the former Wingham Public School.
