Renovations to the Hanover Aquatic Centre are going ahead despite some of the tenders coming in over budget.
The Town of Hanover had been approved for just under $117,000 by Fed-Dev Ontario through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Fund for renovations to the Hanover Aquatic Centre, to be completed in two phases.
But Parks, Recreation & Culture Director, Sherri Walden, says they've had to defer some of the work until 2017 due to budget constraints.
"A good number of the projects are proceeding such as the electrical work, the P.A., sauna, window replacement and some of our chemical feed systems but the items that are being deferred are the change room and washroom fixtures and the flooring," says Walden.
Walden says they'll look at the deferred items as they reassess their budget dollars available and consider completing those items during the second phase of the renovation project.
