Huron-Bruce MP Lobb Reveals Round Table Discussion Issues

Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb says a few issues emerged as prime concerns from round table discussions held this week in Wingham, Kincardine, Exeter and Goderich.

Lobb says the majority of people believe Canada should step up and do its share rather than rely on the United States for security. Lobb adds that would also involve making the case to the Canadian public that better security is necessary to establish a presence in the Arctic, as well as protect our shorelines.

Lobb says another issue that emerged in all four meetings was the need to take politics out of the military procurement process. Lobb says many people in Huron-Bruce have expressed a desire to see all three major parties agree to basic fundamental principals in military purchasing, so that military spending doesn't become a hot issue every time there's an election.

Lobb adds that might also serve to take politics out of the treatment of military veterans.
