A number of recommendations from an Aquatic Safety Audit Report will be in place at Kincardine's Station Beach before this Canada Day Weekend.
A lifesaving station is now on the south pier and one is also being installed on the north pier.
The audit was completed after four drownings at Station Beach over the past seven years, including a 16-year-old Goderich youth last August.
The stations will have buoyant throwing aids and reaching posts.
Signs have been installed on the lifesaving stations to explain equipment usage.
Signs and buoys will indicate no swimming zones within 100 metres of both the south and north piers.
Staff are also looking at adding an additional ladder on the south side of the south pier, while making them more identifiable to bathers.
Warning signs have been ordered and will be installed pointing out things such as emergency phones and the dangers of rip currents.
Council will need to look at plans to institute a patrol on Station Beach and establish emergency procedures.
A No Water Craft and No wake zone is already in place, with buoys marking the zones, but shore signage will be improved.
