Wellington OPP Remind Motorists To Watch For Children As School Winds Down

With the end of the school year approaching, Wellington County OPP are reminding motorists and parents to take extra care to keep children in the community safe.

OPP say children already have summer on their minds and may not remember their safety lessons. And as classes end, pedestrian and bicycle traffic will increase on streets and sidewalks.

Motorists need to drive with care, especially near parks and recreations centres.

Slow down, watch for children, and give bicycles some space. Always check behind your vehicle before reversing. And parents should review pedestrian rules with children, and enforce bicycle helmet rules.
