School Bus Driver Charged In Grey Highlands Crash

A school bus driver is facing charges after his bus collided with another vehicle in the Municipality of Grey Highlands, sending one woman to hospital.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Tuesday around 6:45am, the First Canada School bus was traveling east on Grey Rd. 40 and came to a stop at the intersection of Grey Rd. 12. The bus entered the intersection when it collided with a 2015 Toyota RAV4 that was heading north on Grey Rd. 12.

The bus driver was not injured and there were no students on board at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Toyota, a 54-year-old woman from Chatsworth was taken to hospital with minor injuries. She has since been released.

The driver of the school bus, a 53-year-old Owen Sound man, has been charged with failing to yield to traffic on a through highway.
