Owen Sound Council Passes Off-road Vehicles By-law

Owen Sound City Council has passed an Off-Road Vehicles By-Law.

The bylaw permits and regulates the use of Off-road Vehicles between sunrise and sunset.

The vehicles will only be allowed on select city streets between April and October.

ORVs must go 20 km/h or less on city streets, and can also ride on part of the Georgian Bay trail.

However, they are not permitted in parks, sports fields, playgrounds, other trails, cemeteries, sidewalks or boulevards.

Riders must have front and rear lights on at all times, a permit and number plate, insurance, a driver's licence and a helmet.
