Wellington County OPP Lay Charges in Crime Spree

Wellington County OPP followed up a 45 day investigation into stolen vehicles and property with charges against two Harriston men.

OPP say The Street Crime Unit and uniform officers were looking into numerous vehicles being stolen, and then eventually recovered in the north end of the County. Police say the vehicles and stolen property were subsequently used to commit other offences.

23 year old Kevin Harper and 25 year old Donald Harper of Harriston face a number of charges.

Police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles as the majority of thefts involve unlocked unattended vehicles with the keys in the ignition, and valuables in plain view.

23-year-old Kevin HARPER of Harriston with the following Criminal Code offences:

Possession of Property Obtained by a Crime Over $5000 X5 Possession of Property Obtained by a Crime Under $5000 X3 Theft Under $5000 X4 Fail to Comply With Probation Order X2 Attempt Theft Under $5000 X2 He was held for a Bail Hearing to answer to his charges.

25-year-old Donald HARPER of Harriston with the following Criminal Code offences:

Possession of Property Obtained by a Crime Over $5000 Possession of Property Obtained by a Crime Under $5000 Theft Under $5000 Fail to Comply with Probation Order He will appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 12, 2016 to answer to the charges.
