Bruce Power Supports Youth Relay For Life Events

Bruce Power is supporting Youth Relay for Life events at secondary schools in Kincardine, Saugeen Shores, Goderich and Meaford. The nuclear power station is providing each site with $7,500. for a total of $30,000. Acting President Kevin Kelly says almost everyone has been touched by cancer, personally, or by supporting a friend for family member's battle. He adds “It is important we support our local youth, many of whom have lost parents, grandparents and other loved ones. To see students raising funds and awareness through these Youth Relay for Life events is very uplifting, and we’re proud to support these important initiatives." Bruce Power is also making an additional $5,000. donation to the local Cancer Society to honour the memory of others who have lost their life to cancer Geoff Van Geem, Manager of the Bluewater Office of the Canadian Cancer Society, says the organization is grateful for Bruce Power’s support over the past 12 years.

“With sponsors like Bruce Power, Relay for Life is helping us make a difference in the fight against cancer by funding Canada’s most promising cancer research and easing the burden families face in their fight against cancer through local services such our Wheels of Hope transportation service,” Van Geem said.
