Climate Change Plans Need To Evolve

The Supervisor of Water Planning for the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority says climate change is continuing to impact things like lake levels and erosion along the shoreline.

But Geoff Cade also points out it's difficult to plan for what's coming because no one knows for sure. The nature and the rate of change are not predictable. Cade explains several models have been created but just one of the variables is the rate at which we continue to release emissions into the air.

Cade adds any plan has to be flexible enough to react to several variables and will also have to be updated frequently to adjust for changes that weren't anticipated.
