Ratepayers who haven’t had a chance to voice their feelings at the past six public meetings about Meaford’s on service delivery have one more chance to do so tonight.
Meaford mayor Barbara Clumpus says she and council would like to hear from those people at Meaford's seventh and final public meeting. The meeting will be at 7:00 p.m at Meaford-St. Vincent Community Centre.
“If you’ve already spoken at one or more of the previous meetings,” Mayor Clumpus said, “you’re welcome to speak again.”
Mayor Clumpus told the media, yesterday, that she, council and staff appreciate the comments and concerns voiced by local ratepayers, including those critical of some municipal services.
“When people take time out to come to these meetings and make constructive criticism of these services, those comments help us improve. What we don’t appreciate is hearing a ratepayers said we should drop or cut back on some service because they don’t use it but still pay taxes on it."
