We're in for some warm weekend weather both today and tomorrow according to the latest from Environment Canada.
With temperatures expected to climb as high as almost 30 degrees both today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday), weather officials have issued a Special Weather Statement.
"Today it's especially warm, we're looking for highs getting close to 30 degrees and with the humidity it'll feel more like 36 degrees so if you're susceptible to the heat and humidity, it's a good day to take it easy or stay inside during the warmest part of the day," says Ria Alsen, Severe Weather Meteorologist with Environment Canada.
The warm, humid air mass currently looming over much of Midwestern Ontario is also expected to bring with it some wet and stormy weather at some point.
Alsen says there's a very good chance of thunderstorms throughout the region today (Saturday) with temperatures expected to cool off a little heading into the overnight hours.
"We did have some thunderstorms pop up yesterday and we're expecting the same to happen today, so that's a possibility," adds Alsen.
While no Air Quality Advisory has been issued as of yet, individuals with athsma, lung disease or any other health conditions should take it easy, keep cool and stay hydrated.
