Central Huron Mayor Jim Ginn has announced his intention to run for Warden of Huron County for 2017.
Ginn explains the Warden's job is very important and time-consuming, so a number of factors in a person's professional, personal and political life have to line up well. He says his council in Central Huron has considerable experience so he's comfortable leaving things in their hands if he has to be away on council business. He still wants to continue farming but his children are old enough to provide help there when required, and his children are also old enough that he doesn't have to there all of the time.
Ginn also believes that Huron County has to continue to have a strong rural voice, and he believes his background in farming as well as his interest in environmental issues will be an asset for the county.
So far Ginn is the only Huron County councillor to announce an intention to run for Warden. The election for Warden will be held in the first week in December.
